Introduction
When you want to make a cool WordPress website, Divi by Elegant Themes is a popular tool. It helps people who aren't tech experts build great websites. Two important parts of Divi are Divi Layouts and Divi Child Themes. Let's learn what's different about them and which one you should use for your site.
Divi Layouts
Divi Layouts are ready-made web page designs you can use to build your site. Here's what's important about Divi Layouts:
Easy to Use: Divi Layouts are simple. You don't need to be a tech wizard to use them.
Quick Setup: You can make your site fast with Divi Layouts. Just pick a design, put it on your site, and change the text and pictures.
Make It Yours: You can change things like colors, fonts, and pictures to match your style.
Affordable: Lots of Divi Layouts are free or cheap. That's good if you're on a budget.
Stay Updated: Divi Layouts can get updates without changing your whole website.
Divi Child Themes
Divi Child Themes are more powerful. They let you change everything about your site, not just the look. Here's what's important about Divi Child Themes:
Super Customizable: You can make big changes with Divi Child Themes. You can even add new features to your site.
Tech Skills Needed: You might need to know some coding to use Divi Child Themes. They're best for experienced developers.
Total Makeover: With a Divi Child Theme, you can give your site a whole new look and special features.
Stays Separate: Your Divi Child Theme won't change when Divi updates. That's good for keeping your site running smoothly.
Cost and Time: Building a Divi Child Theme can take more time and money compared to Divi Layouts, especially if you need to hire a developer.
How to Choose
Think about what you need and how skilled you are:
-
If you want a quick and cheap way to make your site look nice and don't know much about coding, use Divi Layouts.
-
If you're a pro who wants full control over your site and is willing to spend time and money, go with Divi Child Themes.
Sometimes, you can start with Divi Layouts and then move to Divi Child Themes later as you get more skilled and your project grows.
