The best Divi developers have built real sites with the Divi Builder and Theme Builder, can show you live examples, and quote a fixed scope instead of a vague hourly guess. A fixed-price studio suits owners who want a clear price. A freelance marketplace suits one-off jobs on a tight budget. A vetted developer network suits buyers who want someone else to screen candidates. An agency suits ongoing work, and Divi communities suit custom module or plugin code.

Hiring is hard because "Divi developer" covers very different skills. Some people only assemble pages from ready-made layouts. Others write PHP and build custom modules with Divi’s developer API. Prices run from under $100 for a single page to well over $1,000 for a store, and a profile rarely tells you which kind of person you are talking to.

This article walks through five ways to find and hire one, each with how it works, who it suits, and what it costs. Divi Hat is our own studio, so keep that in mind when you read item one. The other four are routes we know from ten years of building Divi sites.

1. Divi Hat custom web design

Divi Hat is a Divi-only studio that sells fixed-price build packages, which makes it the easiest option to price before you commit. It sits first because the packages are concrete, not because every project belongs here.

How it works

Divi Hat builds on the Divi theme, and a custom design comes first so the layout conveys your brand before any building starts. We also install and customize Divi layouts and child themes you have already bought. For layout installation you supply your Divi license and your WordPress or hosting credentials.

The team has 10 years of experience with the Divi theme, and the founder, Shahzad Raza, is a top-rated professional on Upwork.

Who it suits

It fits small business owners who want a defined deliverable and price, and designers who bought a layout but do not want to spend an afternoon installing it. It is a weaker fit if you need custom plugin or module code. For that, see item 5.

What it costs

Here are the listed packages:

Service Price What you get
Landing page $199 1 page, slider with 3 slides, max 5 sections
Business website $499 5 pages, slider with 3 slides, testimonials, blogs
Ecommerce store $1,499 Unlimited pages, up to 50 products, payment integration
HTML to Divi $199 Rebuilds your static HTML site in the Divi Builder
Figma to Divi $99 1 page, max 5 sections, 1 contact form

Extra sections on the Figma service cost $10 each. A Figma page with 8 sections costs $99 plus 3 × $10, so $129 in total. Custom web design and layout installation have no listed price, so ask for a quote.

A fixed package turns a vague hiring decision into a price you can check before you message anyone.

2. Freelance marketplaces

A freelance marketplace gives you the widest pool of Divi developers at the lowest entry price, but you do all the vetting yourself.

How it works

On a site like Upwork you post a job or browse profiles, read past client reviews, interview two or three people, and hire one. Search for Divi by name, not just WordPress. Ask for two or three live Divi sites and check that they used the Theme Builder instead of a pile of custom CSS.

Ask about Divi 5 too. A developer who has not touched it will build to older habits, and you will feel that at your next update.

Who it suits

It suits one-off jobs such as a landing page, a header fix, or a small business site. It also suits buyers who can judge a portfolio. If you cannot tell good Divi work from average work, a marketplace puts the risk on you.

What it costs

Upwork’s own Divi page says a project typically costs $500 to $2,500. Small fixes and single pages land at the bottom of that range, and multi-page sites land higher. Full-time Divi developer jobs on ZipRecruiter list salaries of $90,000 to $169,000, so freelancers are far cheaper unless you need someone every week.

Budget $500 to $2,500 for a typical freelance Divi project, and spend the first hour checking live sites, not rates.

3. Vetted WordPress developer networks

A vetted network screens developers before they take clients, so you trade a little price for less hiring risk. Codeable is the best-known example, and it lists a dedicated group of Divi developers.

How it works

You describe the project, and the platform matches you with developers who send quotes. Because the network has already screened applicants, you compare proposals instead of reading unfiltered profiles. Many of these developers handle broader WordPress and WooCommerce work, such as speed optimization and malware removal, alongside Divi.

Who it suits

It suits owners with a problem that goes beyond page design, such as a slow site, a WooCommerce checkout bug, or a hacked install. It also suits buyers who would pay extra for a second layer of quality control.

What it costs

Quotes are per project, and marketplace fees usually apply on top of what the developer charges. Check the total before you accept, not just the developer’s number. Expect prices above the cheapest freelancers, because screened developers tend to work at higher rates. Simple page builds cost less than debugging or custom functionality.

Pay for a vetted network when the problem is technical, not when you only need a page built.

4. Divi-focused agencies

A Divi agency gives you a team, a process, and someone to call after launch. Agencies such as Divi Extended, Capitol Tech Solutions, and Intuitive Digital describe their work as custom Divi builds, theme customization, and WordPress development.

How it works

You brief the agency, receive a scoped proposal, and work with a project manager while designers and developers build. Many offer ongoing maintenance, which matters because Divi and WordPress updates can break custom work. Some advertise certified Divi staff, so ask what the certification covers.

Who it suits

It suits companies that need a full redesign, several pages, integrations, and a single point of contact. It is overkill for a five-page brochure site. It fits best when you want to hand the whole project over.

What it costs

Agencies quote per project and rarely publish rates. Expect to pay more than a freelancer, because the price covers project management, design review, and support. Ask for a written scope that lists pages, revisions, and post-launch support. Compare at least two proposals line by line.

An agency costs more than a freelancer because you are buying process and support, so make them put both in writing.

5. Divi communities and the developer docs

Divi community groups are the place to look when you need custom modules, plugins, or code that general designers cannot write.

How it works

Active Divi groups, including a large Facebook group, regularly host posts from people asking where to find Divi theme developers for a website or plugin. You post your brief and developers reply. Elegant Themes also documents Divi’s hooks, filters, and module API on its developer pages, including the rebuilt Developer API in Divi 5. Read those docs first so you can describe what you need.

Who it suits

It suits buyers who need a custom Divi module, a plugin that extends the builder, or deep integration work. It also suits technical founders who can judge a code sample.

What it costs

There is no standard price, and replies in open groups are unvetted. Agree a fixed scope in writing, ask for a code sample or a live module, and pay in stages, not in full upfront. Custom code usually costs more than a page build, so request a quote only after you have written a clear specification.

For custom Divi code, the quality of your brief decides the quality of the quote you get.

Choosing the right Divi developer

Match the route to the job. Use a fixed-price studio for pages and small sites, a marketplace for budget one-offs, a vetted network for technical problems, an agency for a full project with support, and a community for custom code. In every case, ask for live Divi sites, confirm Divi 5 experience, and get the scope in writing.

If your budget is tight, you may not need a developer at all. Ready-made layouts and child themes cover many jobs for far less. You can browse the Divi Hat membership to see the full library, or ask us to install and customize it for you.

Pick your plan. Keep every design.

Both plans unlock the full library. Lifetime pays for itself after your second client site.
